Building character, citizenship, and outdoor skills in a nurturing Islamic environment. Join our family-friendly scouting adventure for boys and girls ages 5-10!
This month, Pack 23 will be focussing on the theme of Citizenship. The goal is to help our Scouts understand the importance of being active, responsible members of their community and the many ways they can contribute positively to society.
"By engaging in these activities, our Scouts will gain a deeper appreciation for their role in the community and the responsibilities that come with citizenship."
Citizenship-focussed den meetings will be held where Scouts will work on age-appropriate adventures and activities that highlight civic responsibility, respect for community, and service to others.
Scouts will participate in a meaningful community service activity that provides them with an opportunity to demonstrate respect, teamwork, and leadership while making a positive impact on the community.
We will conclude the month with a celebration where the Scouts' efforts and achievements will be recognized. Awards and advancements will be presented, acknowledging the hard work completed during this month's theme.
Pack 23's September citizenship theme provides a comprehensive foundation for developing young leaders who understand their role in creating stronger, more connected communities. Through den meetings, service projects, and recognition ceremonies, our Scouts will emerge with both practical experience and a lasting committment to civic engagement.
Assalamualaikum! Masjid Al-Furqan's Cub Scouts Pack 23 recently enjoyed an unforgettable weekend at the Bert Adams Spring Family Cub-a-ree. Our scouts and their families built memories while developing confidence, teamwork, and curiosity through hands-on activities. Just look at what we got up to:
Art projects and STEM activities that sparked innovation alongside rock climbing adventures that built courage and strength. Our scouts created nature-inspired crafts using materials collected from the forest floor, and constructed simple machines to understand mechanical principles. The rock climbing wall challenged even our most adventurous scouts, teaching them perseverance and the importance of supporting their peers.
Range and target practice for focus and discipline, plus endless outdoor fun with inflatables and games for energy release. Scouts learned proper archery techniques under expert supervision, and mastered basic navigation using compasses and natural landmarks. The afternoon games included obstacle courses, and tug-of-war competitions that promoted friendly competition while building team spirit and physical endurance.
Pack 23 proudly operates under the charter of Masjid Al-Furqan West Cobb Islamic Center, offering a unique scouting experience that honors Islamic values while embracing the time-tested Cub Scout program.
We welcome boys and girls ages 5-10 from all backgrounds to join our pack. Our diverse leadership team creates a supportive environment where every child can thrive and develop essential life skills.
Through fun adventures and meaningful activities, we help young people build character, learn citizenship, develop leadership skills, and grow in physical and mental fitness.
Our program follows the official BSA Cub Scout advancement path, adapted to accomodate Islamic principles while fulfilling all scouting requirements. Each rank teaches age-appropriate skills through fun, hands-on activities.
