What is Scouting America?
What is Scouting America?
Scouting Amerca is a national youth program open to both boys and girls ages 11 to 17 (or 5th-grade graduates through age 18). Unlike Cub Scouts - which is family-led - Scouting America is youth-led and youth-run.
Troop 23 is chartered as a family troop structure welcoming both boys & girls, with completely seperate boy and girl troops and patrols following BSA guidelines. Adult leaders provide initial guidance, but the primary goal is to quickly hand the reins to the youth.

Building a Strong Future: Scouting leadership, merit badges, and rank achievements - especially Eagle Scout - carry lifelong prestige and serve as outstanding highlights on high school, college, and scholarship applications, as well as future professional resumes.
